Q2/2024 Chapter Meeting

Dear all,

we are pleased to invite you for the Q2/2024 ACFE Austria Chapter meeting, which will take place in person in Vienna and will be kindly hosted in partnership with BMD at their offices at Storchengasse 1, 7th floor, 1150 Vienna. The topics for this event are:

Forensic Accounting

Fraud always leaves evidence, and a critical source is the accounting. Fraudsters need to do something to conceal their fraudulent actions. Either they forge documents or accounting entries, or sometimes they delete evidence. Either you need to look for what is not right or what is missing. Martina Leitgeb and Roland Beranek will talk about:

• what to look for in the accounting
• investigation methods
• red flags relating to accounting

The focus is on practical examples and the specific approach of the fraudsters. You will get an impression of what fraud in accounting can look like.

Panel discussion

Afterwards a panel discussion with Christof Seifert, Nikolaus Rechnitzer and Martina Leitgeb will take place.

Christof Seifert has a long history in fraud management and detection of fraud. He will share his experience in the field of fraud detection.

Nikolaus Rechnitzer is an experienced internal auditor, who discovered many fraud cases in the course of his career. He will share practical examples.

The event is open to ACFE Austria Chapter members, but we are happy to welcome professionals who are not yet members of the Chapter, would like to attend the meeting and are interested in becoming members.

Participation at this event will grant existing ACFE members 2 CPEs.
